1st Draft: This Can't Be Real...Is It?: The Awful Waffles Podcast

Here is my first rough draft of my film. It is titled This Can't Be Real...Is It?: The Awful Waffles Podcast . This film is an animated comedy about a group of friends working on a podcast. The first two minutes represent an introduction of all the characters and how this podcast came to be.

Production 8- Completed Filming and Checking The Rubric (Day 18)

Image
Today is Day 18   of working on the portfolio project independently.  Luckily, I was finally able to complete my film animation over the weekend. So, all I had to do was make final edits and have some friends give me feedback.      Last weekend, I made  all  the animations and added  in  the audio.  To make the animations,  I took screenshots of several different s lides  on  PowerPoint , and then attached them all together on the editing soft ware Premiere Pro . This way I created a flowing two minutes.  I also wanted to have exactly 2-minutes, so I added a minor end scene to tie it off.      During day   1 6 ,  I  c ompared my film to the rubric. Unfortunately, some of the criteria was not included in my film, but not enough to fail it. I was lacking mis e -en-scene . I originally designed my film to have a lack of background because I thought that it would look too ...

Production 7- Beginning To Film (Day 15)

Image
Today is Day  1 5  of working on the portfolio project independently.  Over the past two days I have gotten ready to film and even started filming.      During day   1 4 ,  I  created my technical difficulties image in photoshop. I also  got help from a friend for recreating the sound.  It didn’t take much to create the image because I just based it  off  a picture .      During day  1 5 , I worked on  filming and editing on Premiere Pro. Hopefully, by the end of the day I will record the hardest scenes of my film.  These scenes are the characters walking towards their seats. Even though this scene is very short, the fact that I am filming this film in a stop motion type of way, it is taking much longer.  Luckily, I have already began working on this yesterday  and I am already halfway done with this first scene .      Over the weekend, I plan on fi...

Production 6- Getting Ready To Film (Day 13)

Image
Today is Day  1 3  of working on the portfolio project independently.  Sadly, over the weekend I did not complete as much as I would have liked to. The only thing this means is that I need to work ha rder these next couple of days to keep up with my planner.      During day   11 ,  I  designed all my characters sitting. I plan on getting everything ready so that I can begin filming on Friday . Also, during this day, I received an answer for how I should make  my “technical difficulties” scene. Even though it is short, it requires me to design my own image and recreate the sound.      During day  1 2 , I  practiced seeing how my film would look. I simply took screen shots of my computer and put them together to create a flowing video. Unfortunately, I cropped  some of the pictures differently so that the video looked a li ttle weird. Now, I must figure out how to crop each of m...

Production 5- Designing Characters (Day 10)

Image
Today is Day  10  of working on the portfolio project independently. For the past t wo  days, I h ave designed each character in my film .      During day  9 ,  I  began designing my characters for my film. I used photos that showed a clear image of each of my actor’s faces, and then uploaded it to photoshop so that I  could make edits. I edited the picture so that it was only their head showing and the background was just clear, empty space.  I then created the body of each character by drawing a little triangle body and stick figure arms and legs.  Finally, I saved the images as a PNG so that the background would remain clear and not white.      During day  10, I finished designing my character by making them look neater.  I simply used the eraser tool to make my crop job look better, and I made straighter lines on the bodies of each character.      Over the weekend,...

Production 4- Designing Title Cards (Day 8)

Image
Today is Day 8 of working on the portfolio project independently. For the past th ree days, I honestly have not done much.      During day 6,  I got photos from my friends to put into my film.  However, some of the pictures didn’t show their entire head (which is what I wanted). So, I might use one of my own photos of them  instead  or ask them to send another.      During day 7, I began designing my title cards. I took the photos that I captured during winter break  and uploaded it into Photoshop. Then, I selected the person in each photo and colored it all black with the  brush tool. Finally, I made the image a PNG so that  it only showed   the silhouette of  each cast member  and none  of the background .      During day 8, I  combined the silhouette PNGs with the Awful Waffles’ Podcast logo.  I used Photoshop to combine each of the two image s.  ...
